Title: Technology Transfer Activities at INFN

Affiliation: INFN Trieste (I) and TT Responsible for INFN

Abstract: INFN is the Italian National Research Institution acting in the field of Particles and Astro-particle Physics. This basic research activity is carried ahead in strong cooperation with Universities and in an international context. A constant and growing attention is addressed to the applications of front edge know-how and technologies, being developed within the INFN research work, that are the natural by-product of a sound and competitive basic research activity. In this way, innovative solutions, which often go beyond the state of the art, become available through the interaction between INFN advanced research laboratories and industry.
The INFN Technology Transfer Group has as a mission to consolidate this interchange of know how and technology with the industrial system, through a model of cooperation in product innovation, by making use of the nationally distributed advanced technological infrastructure of the INFN Sections and Laboratories. To this purpose, INFN is also increasing activities on intellectual property protection and valorization.
The availability of innovative technology, developed in its own laboratories, and the capability to realize advanced and complex infrastructures are at the base of the technology strength of INFN whose lines of technological development include research on devices, materials, techniques and processes motivated by its research targets. To promote an efficient and prompt valorization of this wealth is the mission of INFN Technology Transfer whose structure will be discussed in the presentation.
